3Roots is an ambitious startup with a big mission: to bring independent filmmakers and passionate investors together. They came to us wanting to build a timeless brand and platform, rooted in creativity and collaboration. The challenge, however, was that they needed help telling their story in a way that would resonate with their diverse audiences: filmmakers looking for funding, donors eager to support the arts, and philanthropists driven by purpose.

We started with strategy workshops to dig deeper into 3Roots’ audience What inspires them and how we could bridge the gap between creators and funders. Our approach brought together insights from the client and practical techniques refined over years of experience working in WordPress.

We broke it down into: filmmakers needing resources and opportunities, investors wanted confidence their contributions would make an impact, and philanthropists sought meaningful ways to support the creative world. Armed with these insights, we mapped out how 3Roots could speak directly to each of these groups while staying true to their mission.

The name “3Roots” came with its own built-in metaphor—connection, growth, and strength. Drawing inspiration from trees, we created a visual identity that embodied these ideas. The earthy color palette—deep greens and neutral tones—symbolizes grounding and organic growth, while the slightly whimsical yet elevated design adds a sense of creativity and possibility.

Typography played a key role in the brand’s personality. We chose elegant serif fonts for headers to evoke sophistication and timelessness, while we used clean sans-serif fonts for body text to ensure readability. Together, these elements gave 3Roots a brand that feels approachable yet ambitious, inviting audiences to connect and grow something bigger than themselves.

By giving every element its own space, the page invites exploration while keeping the story clear and compelling
  • Visuals That Connect: The design incorporated earthy tones and elegant typography that tied back to the 3Roots visual identity. Real, authentic imagery showcased filmmakers and supporters, creating an emotional connection with visitors. These visuals not only humanized the brand but also reinforced its community-focused mission.
  • Call-to-Actions That Lead with Purpose: CTAs were carefully placed throughout the page to drive user engagement. With clear, high-contrast buttons like “Learn More” and “Get Involved,” visitors always knew where to go next. The messaging was simple, direct, and aligned with the brand’s inclusive tone, encouraging action without feeling pushy.
