About

Our first game, built from scratch.

Working in tandem with ChunkyBones Studios, Oak Theory used industry-leading technology such as Unity to create the studio's first mobile game, with an incredibly quick turnaround timeframe.

What started as one of Oak Theory's founders' personal challenge grew into a full-blown mobile game — this project marked the studio's introduction into the mobile gaming space, and it was a journey we loved. New game updates are currently in progress.

The challenge

A magical twist on a very familiar genre.

Block puzzle games are a crowded genre where players already know the rules. The challenge was making Enchanted Blocks feel instantly playable while giving it an art direction, world, and reward loop distinct enough to keep people coming back.

That meant designing two modes with different pacing — Classic for endless high-score chasing, Time Crunch for quick sessions — plus boosters, achievements, competitions, and a top players leaderboard, all inside one coherent enchanted visual system.

Our journey together

01

Two modes, two kinds of players.

Players fill a grid with block shapes to create and clear lines, choosing between Classic — an endless mode for chasing a high score — and Time Crunch, a time-limited mode built for a quick session in line or on a commute.

Both modes share one board and one control model, so learning one teaches you the other.

02

An enchanted world, drawn asset by asset.

Visual strategy and illustration gave the game its magical twist: gem currencies, booster potions, spellbooks, treasure chests, and a soft-focus forest world that reads clearly at phone size.

Every UI surface — shop, level select, game over, achievements — was drawn from the same asset library so the world never breaks.

03

Boosters that rescue, not trivialize.

Booster potions help players through difficult moments without erasing the challenge, and achievements give long-session players something to unlock beyond the score itself.

The shop was designed to sit quietly beside the game loop rather than interrupt it.

04

Competitions and a top players leaderboard.

Feature design added competitions and a global top players leaderboard, turning a solo puzzle into something social and replayable.

A dual mode has also been designed and is not yet released — the next chapter for the game.
