Sparxs Studios is an independent, award-winning production company based in Austin. They came to Oak Theory with a vision: an experiential, multi-platform streaming application for indie films, combining proven features from established streaming platforms with innovative new capabilities designed to optimize the experience for both viewers and creators.
As a company going through its seed funding round, Sparxs Studios needed to show investors the product's potential through a working prototype. Oak Theory partnered with the Sparxs team on the best approach to a minimum viable product — focusing on a core feature set while still showcasing the platform's more aspirational, longer-term capabilities.
What we did
Sparxs Studios needed more than static concepts to raise their seed round — they needed something investors could click through. We designed and built a working prototype of the streaming experience that made the product tangible in the room, paired with an investor deck that framed the opportunity around it.
Working closely with the Sparxs team, we distilled an ambitious long-term vision into a realistic first release: a core feature set and two user roles — viewer and creator — that could be tested with real people while still hinting at the platform's more aspirational capabilities.
